The Democrats are stupid for letting them put anything in there because then Republicans can take some of the credit. They can pass this bill with no Republicans at all and they should because Republicans clearly have no concern for the people. And if the Republicans had their way nothing would change so that should tell people something. So to sum it up the Republicans know they can’t stop it so they might as well add something and score some political points. It’s the Democrats that are letting themselves get distracted and pushed around.

So when the Dems pass the bill it won’t be quite as bad.

  3. Laughing @ Conservative Rednecks says

They are useless douche-bags whining, crying, and lying becuae they hate the fact that they got beat out by Dems, and even more that a black guy is running the country! wasting time with meaningless Amendments to water down the bill is all they can do short of burning a cross on the White House lawn while cloaked in pale sheets…lol! ;)

Its called politics as now some of the democrats wont vote for the bill now as there are now things on it that they don’t like so now both sides will have to compromise this is commonly done when one party doesn’t have enough votes to override the other

They did the same thing with the stimulus bill. They added most of the pork and then bitched about the pork because most people didn’t bother to read it and see where those amendments came from. And then they voted against it. John V you have a different copy than me. Your just another conservative spreading rhetoric and lies. Is this the Limabaugh bill? Can you say Betsey McCaughey?

  6. Bonkers! says

Huh? Isn’t that kind of obvious?

Should they just drop all requests for changes and just go sit in a dark corner and hope and pray that the bill does not pass?

Thank goodness that vast majority of people get that it might pass anyway and we should prepare for that.

It’s a form of filibustering but not to help The People. Just the HMO’s.

  8. realist101 says

Because if it does somehow go through, the Republicans want the people to be protected as much as possible. Do you realise how many ‘earmarks’ were in this bill? Obama, during his presidency run, promised to ban ‘earmarks’. He then signed a bill with more of them than ever in our history. Shouldn’t that raise some questions in your mind?

  9. Texas Patriot says

If the republicans got amendments added to the “public insurance” bill, as you put it, that doesn’t the bill as whole is worth a plug nickel.

maybe they are hoping they might be able to vote for a bill that will help.
